 ActivismÂ
A network of individuals, campaigns, groups, and projects, uniting to build a strong, coordinated movement to end animal exploitation. If you're curious about getting involved in activism, join us! We have a whatsapp group, please reach out via the contact form if you would like to be added.Â
A local group of volunteers supporting THL's corporate campaigns (focused on farmed animal welfare) by holding protests and participating in digital activism. Anyone can join - veggie, vegan or omni, we all want to reduce suffering! We have a whatsapp group, please reach out via the contact form if you would like to be added.Â
A student-led campaign group, calling on Oxford Uni to transition to 100% just and sustainable plant-based catering to tackle the climate and nature crises. We have a whatsapp group, please reach out via the contact form if you would like to be added.Â
WTF organises protests such as 'The 3 Minute Movie Challenge', where members of the public are offered a sweet treat if they watch a short video exposing the abuse in animal farming. We have a whatsapp group, please reach out via the contact form if you would like to be added.Â
Live art installations, dismantling speciesism: the assumption of human superiority, leading to the exploitation of nonhuman animals.
Viva! focuses on vegan outreach events, for example handing out free samples of vegan treats to the public, as well as flyers offering information and support for transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle. We have a whatsapp group, please reach out via the contact form if you would like to be added.Â
This facebook group contains posts about animal rights activism events and actions. (Formerly known as Oxford Vegan Action.)
Animal Save holds animal vigils outside slaughterhouses. It's unclear whether the group is currently active.Â
In addition to the activities organised by these groups, there are grassroots campaigns to get involved with, which are organised by passionate individuals. For example, protests of the Oxford Greyhound Race Track, coordinated letter-writing, 100 Cafés campaign, sanctuary visits, talks at schools etc. Also, there is some interest in starting a local Hunt Sabotage group - reach out through the contact form if you'd like to be involved.
